AJ Maddeny founded Divorce Digitally after 20 years as an Alternative Dispute Resolution practitioner. Since the lockdown in 2020 and over the following two years, interpersonal conflict dynamics have shifted, impacting how his mediation practice operates. As society suddenly transitioned to an online environment, AJ recognized the need for new options to help people resolve their conflicts in a way that meets them where they are.

As he began automating his mediation, facilitation, and guided negotiation services, the increasing number of divorce cases and the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) made Divorce Digitally the natural response to this new reality.

Drawing on his Decision Science training, Conflict Analysis and Resolution graduate work, and IT/programming knowledge, AJ designed an algorithm that guarantees neutrality. This ensures clients can make decisions free from power imbalances without engaging in direct or indirect negotiations influenced by personality, attitude, or accusations from their spouse.

Divorce Digitally is built on the principles of Mediation, Conflict Resolution, and Decision Science strategies, tactics, and theories to ensure a fair and lasting Separation Agreement. The guiding principles are:

– Offer divorcing couples a service that automates the most challenging part of the divorce process.
– Narrow the focus on issues rather than personalities.
– Prioritize the future needs and immediate wants of the clients.
– Balance both sides’ wants and needs against the issues.

Having personally experienced the emotional toll of divorce through two relationships that transformed into new dynamics, AJ understands how challenging the process can be. This is the service he wished had been available when he was going through his own divorces.
